Marion Elizabeth Wright passed peacefully on March 31, 2019, in Phoenix, Arizona, at the age of 95. 

She was born on November 6, 1923 to Lillian Julia (Wendt) and Thomas Jefferson Jones in Stormlake, Iowa.  The family, including 5 children and Touser (dog), traveled to New Mexico in 1927 in a brand new Model A Ford, when Marion was three.   They lived in Las Cruces then Arrey, NM, and later in Hot Springs (Truth or Consequences), NM where Marion graduated from high school.   She spent the next several years in Waco, Texas, living with her older sister, Ruth and her family, and working for the telephone company.  She often shared fond memories from her years in Waco, TX. She and James B Wright were married on November 15, 1947 in Albuquerque, NM.  They settled and built a home in Hot Springs, NM, where Marion became the Chief Operator at the local phone company.  She and James also managed the Truth or Consequences Municipal Airport for many years.  Marion was in Order of the Rainbow for Girls in high school and also an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star her entire adult life.  She was also an active member of the Pilot Club, and spent many years serving her community.   Her grandchildren brought great joy to her life and she enjoyed many happy times with them.   She always l loved animals and often fed the neighborhood cats and birds. In her later years, she enjoyed many good times with her kitty Snowball.

She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Kofoed, (David) of Phoenix, Arizona; two grandchildren, Melanie Grady (Alisa) of Lewisville, Texas and Aaron Boon (Lauren) of Fort Worth, Texas and great grandson Jax of Fort Worth.   Marion is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Jim Wright; by her brothers, Charles and Ralph, and her sisters, Ruth, Dorothy, and Helen.  

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.   Memorial contributions in her name may be made to BIMI, designate Tom Pace, (PO Box 9, Harrison, TN, 37341) or World Wildlife Fund (1250 twenty-fourth St., N.W., PO BOX 97180, Washington, DC 20090-7180) or New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranches (PO BOX 9, Belen, NM, 87002-0009).
