On April 4, 2019, the gates of heaven opened and the angel of the Lord welcomed home Roger Dale Davis. He was a man of God and a man of faith. He was a ray of sunshine in the lives of all he met. He always had an encouraging word. Roger Dale Davis was born April 1, 1945 in High Point, NC to James and Mallie Pitts Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Davis and Mallie Pitts Davis; brothers, Jimmie Lee Davis, Robert Davis and Edward Davis; sisters, Mary Council, and Juanita Davis.

He met and married Maggie Davis and one child was born to this union. Roger was an active and faithful member of Williams Memorial C.M.E. Church. As a member of Williams Memorial C.M.E., he served as Chairman of the Building Committee, Recording Steward, Assistant Superintendent of the Sunday School, Sunday School Teacher—Men’s class, member of the Steward Board, and the Board of Christian Education. He was a husband, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle who was active in the church. The indelible footprints left by his influence and guidance will always be manifested in the lives he touched.

Those who remain to meet Roger Dale Davis in the Rapture are his wife, Maggie Davis; son, Shawn Kenyon Davis (Tiffany); grandchildren, Omarii Davis and Hayleigh Davis whom he dearly loved; god-daughters LaDesia Smith of High Point and Christie Squire of Greensboro; sister, Geneva Almeta Davis and brother, Leroy Davis of High Point, NC; sisters-in law, Lucille Jackson and Elma Hairston; brother-in-law, George Hairston of High Point; special friends, Herbert and Edna White, Beulah Brown, the Men’s Sunday School Class and his “fishing” buddy Peighton McCormick; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A service to celebrate the life of “Roger” will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Williams Memorial C.M.E. Church, 3400 Triangle Lake Road, officiated by Rev. Robert J. Williams. We don't know what to say except that we love you. We can't understand exactly how you feel, but Jehovah does, and will keep raising you up. We hope that our prayers will help a little. Can humans live forever/ The Bible points to our creator, Jehovah God, and says: "With you is the source of life." (Psalm 36:9) To him, Jesus Christ said in prayer: "This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ." (John 17:3) Indeed, our efforts to know and please Jehovah God and his Son, Jesus Christ, will be rewarded with everlasting blessings. is available to anyone who want these blessings.

We're so sorry to hear you are mourning the recent loss of your loved one. May you find strength and comfort from the words of Psalms 46:1 which reads: "God is our refuge and strength, A help that is readily found in times of distress." Our loving God is there for us if we ask for his help (1 John 5:14). He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11). Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your loved ones? What a joy it will bring all of us. You can go online to JW.ORG and find out more about this resurrection.

God strengthens us by giving us "the power beyond what is normal" to make it through each passing day. Psalm 46:1 says: "God is our refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress." Isaiah 41:13; I "am grasping your right hand, the One [God] saying to you,...'I will help you.'" Please accept my sincere condolences. Always remember God loves you and he cares for you! (Psalm 36:7; 1 Peter 5:7)
