Funeral services for Mr. Jason Garrett, 48, will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Kingston Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Byron F. White is the eulogist. Interment will be in Kingston Memorial Gardens. Mr. Garrett will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Jason Garrett was born on November 3, 1970 to Jathan Lawson and Mae Line Garrett Lawson in Talladega, Alabama.

At an early age, Jason united with Kingston Missionary Baptist Church. He completed his education at Talladega County Training School. Jason was previously employed as a concrete finisher.

On the evening of  Friday, March 29, 2019, Jason traded time for eternity. He was preceded in passing by his daughter, Jessica Garret; parents, Jathan and Mae Line Lawson; and a brother, Billy Joe Garrett.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving wife, Sheila Garrett of Sycamore, Alabama; two daughters, Marqueshia Roberson and JaTerrica Garrett of Sycamore, Alabama; two grandchildren, Kaleb Jace Ashley and Paisley Renae Hale; three sisters, Samantha Garrett of Washington, D.C., Wanda Garrett of Talladega, Alabama and Catrina Fomby of Buffalo, New York; one brother, Samuel Garrett of Talladega, Alabama; mother-in-law, Katherine Roberson of Sycamore, Alabama; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

    Our warmest sympathies goes to you and yours in these difficult moments. May you find strength from the words of 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4 3 Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God. What a loving God who cares about each one of us. He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11).
