Mr. John Sims, Jr., 73, of Prentiss, Mississippi passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Jefferson Davis Extended Care Facility.  He is the son of the late John and Rebecca Sims.  He was a member of South Pleasant Hill M. B. Church.  

He was a tuck point in Construction.  Mr. Sims loved hunting, fishing, watching Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints and fellowship with family and friends. 

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 23, 2019 at South Pleasant Hill M. B. Church at 11am.  Interment will be in the church cemetery. 

He is survived by: sons, Fredrick Wright of Batesville, MS and Steve Wright of Milwaukee, WI; daughters, Tonya Smith of Milwaukee, WI and Hope Walker of Houston, TX; brothers, Tommie Sims of Detroit, MI and Levell Sims of Prentiss, MS; sisters, Catherine Walker of Jackson, MS and Evelyn Sims of Milwaukee, WI

Visitation will be Friday, March 22, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Home, 1-8pm and Saturday at the church, 10-11am.

    Our warmest sympathies goes to you and yours in these difficult moments. May you find strength from the words of 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4 3 Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God. What a loving God who cares about each one of us. He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11).
