Mr. James Magee, 78, of Columbia, Mississippi passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Wesley Medical Center, Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  He is the son of the late John and Lucille Magee. He was a member of Morning Star M. B. Church, Columbia, Mississippi where he was a member of the Brotherhood and the Male Choir.  

He retired from the U. S. Army and later worked at the Back Door Cafe in maintenance.   He loved farming, exercising, reading and fellowship with family and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Morning Star M. B. Church at 11am.  Interment will be in Short Chapel C.M.E. Church Cemetery, Columbia, MS.

He is survived by: wife, Carrie Magee of Columbia, MS; son, James E. Magee of Columbia, MS; daughter, Johnnie Sherryl Miller of Ft. Hood, TX; brothers, Clifford Magee and Ray Magee both of Columbia, MS; sister, Helen Lampton of Lake Charles, LA; grandchildren: 3

Visitation will be Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Morning Star M. B. Church, 9-11am.
