Eugene Phillips, 85, of East Palatka was born on December 14, 1939.  Mr. Phillips lived in Fort Myers most of his life and eventually moved to Hastings, Florida. He was a truck driver who loved spending time with his family and friends he also loved talking on the phone telling wild stories, and he loved music.  Mr. Phillips was a kind loving person who traveled to a lot of places and knew a lot of people. He was affectionally known as Eugene some called him Popeye, and some called him Bud.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, wife, and daughter.

 He is survived by his son, James (Marilyn) Phillips; Grandsons, Jaious & Tony Phillips; 5 Great Grands, Sister, Margarie Crumptley; Favorite Niece, Mary Nair; Caretakers, Kathy Boynton & Denese Hughes, and a host of sorrowing friends.

 

The Homegoing Celebration will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Acts Ministries (600 Putnam Blvd, East Palatka, FL).  The viewing will be Friday, February 8, 2019 at Coleman’s Mortuary Chapel.  The eulogist will be Pastor Fred Bartley.  Family and Friends may sign the register book at www.colemansmortuary.com

    We're so sorry to hear you are suffering the loss of your dear loved one. May you find strength and some comfort in the words found in Psalms 9:9, which reads: “Jehovah will become a secure refuge for the oppressed, A secure refuge in times of distress.” Our loving God cares about us and is ready to bring us comfort if we allow him (1John 5:14).
