Beverly Ann Odom, lovingly known to family and friends as “Bev” began her earthly journey on September 11, 1952 with her parents James “Ed” Odom and Lela McClain Odom.  Her journey ended on January 24, 2019 at CaroMont Regional Hospital, Gastonia, NC.  Beverly was preceded in death by her parents James and Lela Odom, brother Edward A. Odom, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Bev was a 1970 graduate of Frank L. Ashley High School, Gastonia, NC. She worked for a short while at Gaston County Health Department and served as an attendant at local laundromats for at least 20 years. Bev was also a top local seller of Avon products for many years. 

Bev was a loyal and dedicated member of Friendship Christian Church until her health declined. She grew up in Friendship Baptist Church where she was a member of the youth choir and Junior Missionary Department. As a youth, Bev enjoyed attending Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Baptist Training Union (BTU) classes at Friendship. 

Bev did not have children of her own, but enjoyed spoiling her nieces and nephews, as well as her great nieces and great nephews. She loved all of them as if they were her own and they reciprocated that love.  

Cherishing loving memories are William M. Brown her long-life companion, her siblings: Cheryl O. Perkins and Charles M. Odom of Gastonia, NC and Olivia D. Williams of Belmont, NC, two aunts Grace Adams and Barbara McClain of Kings Mountain, NC, one uncle John McClain (Patsy) of Euclid, Ohio; goddaughter Jonna Boyd and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral: Wednesday; Januray 30, 2019; 1:00 p.m.; Friendship Christian Church-221 Bradley Ave, Gastonia

Visitation: thirty minutes before the service at the church

Interment: Oakland Cemetery, Gastonia
