The funeral services for the late Mrs. Susie Mae Johnson of 317 W. 25th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia, who departed this life on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Crisp Regional Medical Center in Cordele, Georgia, will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 1:00 p.m., at the Greater St. Luke Baptist Church in Ashburn, Georgia, with the Reverend James King, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia.  Susie Mae Johnson was born October 8, 1938 in Pulaski County to the parentage of Earnest and Essie Johnson. During her life, she became a member of Greater St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church and worked diligently to support her family.  She spent many years working for the First Methodist Learning Center until her retirement.   Affectionately known as “Ms. Susie” by anyone who crossed her doorstep, Susie Mae valued her love for God and her family, which were the two main focal points of her life.  She found pleasure being a great mother and devoted grandmother for her many grandchildren.  She enjoyed being with her loved ones during family functions, but she especially loved congregating at Greater St. Luke with her children and grandchildren to experience the word and teachings of God. On Sunday, January 20, 2019, our beloved “Ms. Susie” was called home to bring more glory to God’s kingdom.  Her parents, daughters Susan Johnson and Lonnie Mae Johnson, brothers Porter Melton, Andrew Johnson, Irvin Johnson and Leroy Johnson and sisters Ella Mae Johnson and Annie Mae Johnson preceded her in death. “Ms. Susie” leaves to cherish her life and memories six loving children: Rosa McCormick (Nehemiah); Johnny B. Johnson (Juanita), Mary Lee Green (Lester), Sarah Johnson (Michael), Dyanne Johnson, and Teresa Addie (Antonio); 26 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; one brother, Willie Johnson; one sister, Earnestine DeShazor; two sister-in-laws, Pauline Johnson and Annie Doris Johnson.  Ms. Susie also leaves a host of nephews, nieces and sorrowing relatives and friends.

Our warmest sympathies goes to you and yours in these difficult moments. May you find strength from the words of 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4 3 Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God. What a loving God who cares about each one of us. He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11). Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your loved ones? What a joy it will bring all of us. You can go online to JW.ORG and find out more about this resurrection.
