Funeral services for Eva Lou Garrett Ledford, 91, will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at St. Campbell Baptist Church. Reverend Richard Fair is the pastor. Reverend Raymond Garrett will be the eulogist. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Ledford will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Eva Lou Ledford was born on September 11, 1927 to the union of Charner Garrett and Mary Lou Lipscomb Garrett in Alpine, Alabama.

Mrs. Ledford united with St. Campbell Missionary Baptist Church at an early and remained a member until her passing. She received her education at Phyllis Wheatley School. Eva was employed by Talladega College, Shocco Springs and Kimberly-Clark.

On the morning of Sunday, December 23, 2018, Mrs. Ledford was called to eternal rest. She was preceded in passing by her husband, Willie Ledford; two children, Bertha Clark and Spencer Ledford; three grandchildren; four sisters, Annie Calhoun, Eula Dates, Laverne Cole and Magnolia Phillips; and five brothers, John Garrett, Freddie Garrett, Standard Garrett, Samuel Garrett and Robert Garrett.

She is survived by five daughters, Cynthia Briggins, Willie Jean (Emmett) Garrett and Sandra (Michael) Tuck of Alpine, Alabama, Teresa (Willie) Robinson of Greenville, Alabama and Jacqulyne Johnson of Clarksville, Tennessee; four sons, Audrey Garrett, Terry (Evelyn) Ledford, Stanley Ledford and Samuel (Sarah) Ledford of Alpine, Alabama, one son-in-law, Alvin Clark of California; twenty-seven grandchildren; one brother, Spencer (Barbara) Garrett of Atlanta, Georgia; a special cousin, Elmer Calloway; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
