Mr. Govan "GB" Brigham, Sr., entered into rest Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at his daughters residence in Evans, GA.

Mr. Govan "GB" a native of Burke County, was a member of Smith Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church.

Survivors include one son, Govan Brigham, Jr., Augusta, GA; one daughter, McConstant "Mac" Brigham, Evans, GA; seven brothers, Alex Brigham, Ben Brigham, Kirk Brigham, Kenneth Brigham and Jason Brigham all of Girard, GA, Willie Brigham of Waynesboro, GA, and Henry E. Brigham of Jacksonville, FL; six sisters, Lind Brigham, Mary Pierce, Sharon Bush, Vivian Gardner all of Girard, GA, Natasha Blockett of Savannah, GA and Anita Sapp of Evans, GA; seven grandchildren; one great grandson; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 9, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. from Smith Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, 9571 GA Hwy 23 South, Girard, GA, Reverend Dr. Ernest Alema-Mensah, officiating. Interment will be in Smith Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the church from 12:00 noon until the hour of service.

Family will receive friends Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the mortuary.

    We're sorry to hear about your recent loss. Accept our sincere condolences. May you find strength from the words of Philippians 4:13 which says: "For all things I have the strength through the one who gives me power." What a loving God who cares about each one of us. He didn't intend for us to grow old and die.
