June Thomas Christy, age 91, passed Thursday, November 27, 2018 at his home.  He was one of nine children born to Russell Christie and Pearline Groves Christie, born August 29, 1927 in Boyle County. 

“Mutt” as he was known, was an outstanding athlete at Bate High School. He join the army on November 24, 1950 receiving a Korean Service Medal w/4 bronze stars and United Nations Service Medal.  June was united in marriage for 61 years to the late June Yvonne Daugherty Christy.  He retired from Kentucky State Government.  June was a faithful member of First Baptist Danville, serving on the Trustee Board and was an Honorary Grand Master of  Kentucky P.H.A. 

He leaves to cherish his memory, three children, Gwen R. Buffington, Charles K. Daugherty, Mark E. (Sunae Han) Daugherty; grandchildren, Clarence "Shea" Houston, Gina Y. Daugherty and Catherine R. Clarkson; seven great grandchildren; three nieces, Janet Hawkins, Rosa Wright and Vernita Christie Smith; one nephew; Gary Christie; host of great nieces and great nephews, cousins and other relatives as well as extended family.
