Josephine Davis – Hall, 69, of Hastings was born on Tuesday, September 27, 1949 to the late Harold, Sr. & Jessie Mae (Boynton) Davis.  She received her education from the St. Johns County School District and graduated with the class of 1967 from Walter E. Harris High School.  Mrs. Josephine was known for her warm smile throughout the community and known for “Cookie”.  Mrs. Hall was a faithful member at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church of Hastings under the leadership of Rev. Rick and Karen Torrence.  She reserved countless hours to serve in the Mass Choir, Kitchen Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Sunday School, former treasurer for the St. Augustine Choir Guild, Hastings Food Pantry, and The Lord’s Temple Soup Kitchen.  On Friday, November 30, 2018, Mrs. Josephine Davis – Hall transitioned from her this walk of life to her eternal resting place at her residence surrounded by her loving and devoted family.
She leaves to cherish her memories: devoted and loving husband, Lucious H. Hall, Sr., children, Ponce (Maggie Regaspi) Howell, Jr., Lucious H. (Bernadie) Hall, Jr., Michael E. Hall, Antonio L. Vereen, Laetitia H. Hall, Christopher H. (Tania Sims) Hall; brothers, Harold (Lillie) Davis Jr.,Carl Davis, Sr.; sisters, Earlene (Thomas, Jr.) Jones, Hazel Andrews; grandchildren, Yasir Howell, Luz Howell and Amina Howell, Brianna Hall, Noah and Ella Sims-Hall; great grandson, Derreck Braun; goddaughter & friend, Wanda Jones; sister-in-laws, Amanda Childs, Maze Jones, Noemi (Aaron) Sims, Annette Richardson; brother-in-laws, Lorenzo Fuller, Sr., Larry (Jacqueline) Hall,  and a  host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
The viewing will be 6p.m. – 7p.m. Friday, December 14, 2018 at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, Hastings, Rev. Rick Torrance, Pastor, Rev. Karen Torrance, Co – Pastor and Eulogist.  The Homegoing Celebration is 12 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church.  The burial will be in Gethsemane Memorial Cemetery, Federal Point.

    I am so sorry to hear of my Dear Friend “Cookie” passing. I remember our years in Miami. We had lots of fun. You helped me with my daughter Tresa. I Love ❤️ those special times. Rest in Heaven my Dear Friend.
