Funeral services for Deacon Calvin Lee Willis, Sr., 68, will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at St. Campbell Missionary Baptist Church. Deacon Willis will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. 

Deacon Calvin Lee Willis, Sr. was born on June 1, 1950 to William Willis and Pecie Garrett Willis in Talladega, Alabama.

Mr. Willis was long time member of St. Campbell Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and sang with the male chorus. He was also a member of the Cheerful Givers. He was educated in the Talladega County School System where he completed his education at Talladega County Training School. Calvin retired from the Birmingham Housing Authority and was a former employee of Anniston Funeral Service, Lineville Funeral Home and Universal Stage Coach. Currently he was member of the Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary staff.

On May 3, 1974, Calvin and the former Olivia Calhoun united in holy matrimony and to this union one son was born.

On Saturday, November 24, 2018, Mr. Willis was carried to his new home on high. He was welcome to his new home by his parents, William and Pecie Willis, three sisters and eight brothers.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 44 years, Olivia Willis of Talladega, Alabama; one son, Calvin L. (Alicia) Willis, Jr. of Talladega, Alabama; three sisters, Lucinda Willis, Ada Willis and Zeola (Bruce) Moore of Alpine, Alabama; two brothers, Jesse (Clara) Willis and Robert (Debra) Willis of Talladega, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Terry’s Mortuary Staff and friends.
