Funeral service for Dorothy Nell Higgins Porter (Tweet) will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church – Turkeytown with interment in Turkeytown Cemetery. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Mr. Henry and Luella Higgins; husband, Johnny Ray (Goldie) Porter; son, Terrance LaShane Porter; sisters, Sadie and Lillie Higgins, Olla Bell Foster, Catherine Turner, Patricia Brooks; brothers, Jeffrey and Othell Higgins. 

She leaves to celebrate and cherish her memories, loving and devoted children and family: sons, Jamal (Tanisha) Porter, Gadsden, Varrenza (Aquila) Baker, Savannah, Georgia; daughters: Lashunda (Khambrel) Campbell, Canton, Georgia, Quantosha Leach, Atlanta, Georgia; grandsons, Khambrel E. Campbell, Damian Higgins, Jamal Marrie, Darius Bush, Jaiye Miller, Justin Brewster, Jamiree Williams, Steven Leach Jr., Varrenza Baker Jr.; granddaughters, Alexis Porter, Kyleisha Leach, Saqara Leach, Kylan Baker, Jamia Williams, Kaylor Campbell, Londyn Campbell; three brothers, Robert (Jackie) Higgins, Henry (Everneza) Higgins and James Higgins, Gadsden; four sisters, Annie Ruth Hughes, Detroit, Michigan, Barbara (Floyd) Erkins, Gadsden, Mattie Major, Lessburg, Tiffany Higgins, Tuscaloosa; brothers-in-law, Benjamin (Rosemary) Porter, Gadsden, Gary Porter, Centre, Anthony (Michelle) Porter, Birmingham; sisters-in-law, Sandra Porter, Kimberly (Pastor Charles) Kirkpatrick, Gadsden; aunt, Annie (Samuel) McGhee, Chicago, Illinois.
