Louis Nelson, 69, of Bunnell was born on Tuesday, March 22, 1949 to the late Nathaniel Brown and Cora Lee Nelson.  He received his education from the Flagler County School District and subsequently sustained his high school diploma from George Washington Carver High School in Bunnell.  Louis served our country for several years in The United States Army where he was honorable discharged. 

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nacorra S. Nelson, sister, Irene Summerford.

He leaves to cherish his many memories: children, CJ (Stephanie) Nelson, Tyrone Brown, Frederick (Tissea) Duggans, Alicia Watson; sisters, Elouise (Cocoa) Blackman, Bobbie J. Nelson; brothers, Bobby Nelson, George Warren, Warnez Nelson, Nathaniel (Mary) Brown; long time friend, Loretta Duggans, 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6p.m. – 7p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Giddens Sr., Pastor and eulogist.  The Homegoing Celebration will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2018 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.  The burial will be Monday, December 3, 2018 at Jacksonville National Cemetery.

    We're so sorry to hear you are mourning the recent loss of your loved one. May you find strength and comfort from the words of Psalms 46:1 which reads: "God is our refuge and strength, A help that is readily found in times of distress." Our loving God is there for us if we ask for his help (1 John 5:14). He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11).
