The funeral services for the late Mr. Otis L. McClendon of 608 East 6th Avenue, Apt. 6-C, Tifton, Georgia, who departed this life on Tuesday, October 30, at his residence, will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 12:00 Noon from the Beaulah Hill Family Life Center in Tifton, Georgia with the Reverend Frankie L. Mathis, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Tifton, Georgia.  About My Husband, Otis Lee McClendon…      Otis was born on April 10, 1956 in Tift County, Georgia to the late Mr. and Mrs. J. T. and Sara McClendon Turner.  He was the fourth child of four children.      He received his elementary and high school educations in the Tift County Public School System, and graduated from high school in 1974.  After high school, Otis enlisted in the United States Army during the Vietnam War Era.  He served honorably.      At the end of his military service, my husband pursued a career in carpentry and tiling.  He was employed with the former company, Brown Tiling Company.      Otis was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Tifton, Georgia.      In the beginning, we were classmates and friends, high school “crush”, the first guy I ever took home to “Dad”……. our lives went in different directions, only to allow God to collocate us.  April, 2006 was the beginning of two hearts becoming one.  Otis and I married on January 20, 2018.  God smiled and blessed this union.  We have three children.  God, Thank You for my friend, classmate, the love of my life, and most of all, my Husband.      In addition to me (his wife), Otis’ survivors include his sons, Eric McClendon, Herbert E. Giddens, Jr. (Priscilla Clowers); his daughter, Erica McClendon; a sister, Patricia Cleaves; a mother-in-law, Mrs. Gennie M. Brown; sisters-in-law, Lillie McClendon, Lugenia (Tony) Sanders, Theresa Brown, Leshona (Rodney) Williams; brothers-in-law, John H. Cleaves, Henry Cleaves, Charlie W. Brown, Jr., James A. Brown. God surrounded Otis with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors. Rosa

For each thorn, there’s a rosebud… For each twilight — a dawn… For each trial — the strength to carry on, For each storm cloud — a rainbow… For each shadow — the sun… For each parting — sweet memories when sorrow is done. May the peace of God surround you and remember you are covered with His love. Love you Rosa!

Pop, you were always so humble and meek. You and ma (Mrs.Rosa Mcclendon) always treated me like a daughter. I can honestly say that Herb and I, will truly miss you. We were right there by your side until the very end. Ma did everything a wife could do and should do for her husband. Take your crown Pop...we truly do love and miss you. You will forever be in our hearts. To your wife and family, I am very sorry for our loss!!!

Otis I never thought it could be you. I never wanted it to. My other half of me just disappeared. Darkness came as fast as you got your angel wings. My tears will never go away, My heart feels like it's been thrown away. I will always remember our last conversation on Monday night October 29, 2018.YouStated” I okay don’t come Take care of you, I love you.” I reply love you more. Memories’ running through my head not believing my only brother’s life was transition. I couldn't see those big brown eyes, your smile could never ever be replaced . God, take this pain away from you and wings for you to fly. I asked God why my baby brothers, my sister, my parent. He reply you are the tree truck of the tree; they were the leaves and branches. I could not take your place to take your place, but all I can do is wait until then I'll be missing him. LOVE YOU YOUR SISTER

Our warmest sympathies goes to you and yours in these difficult moments. May you find strength from the words of 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4 3 Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God. What a loving God who cares about each one of us. He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11). Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your loved ones? What a joy it will bring all of us. You can go online to JW.ORG and find out more about this resurrection.
