Rosie Mae Hughes, 92, was born May 5, 1926 to the late Walter James and Clara Woodruff Cooper. She passed away October 30, 2018. She was a happy person who could be very funny. She enjoyed fishing and walking. She would walk from one side of town to the other. She enjoyed cooking with her specialty being chicken and dressing, fried corn and greens. But anything she cooked was good! She was a family woman. She really loved her family, especially her great grandchildren. She went out of her way for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed life itself and helping others. There wasn’t anything she would not do if she felt it would help someone. Her loving ways, smile, thoughtfulness, and kind heart all will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert L.  Hughes, Jr.; and brother James Cooper. She leaves to cherish her many memories a daughter, Clara Crutcher, Chattanooga; grandchildren, Shirley Wade, Rasheed (Elaine) Muhammad, both of Chattanooga, Robert L. (Alexandra) Hughes III, Birmingham, England, Armae (Walter, Jr.) Owens, Chattanooga, Charlie Maude Hughes (Germon Baker), Chattanooga; 14 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; brother, Charles Cooper, Dayton, OH; sisters, Lucille Stamper of Chattanooga and Lizzie Bohannon of Dayton, OH; dear friend, Eunice White; a host of other relatives and friends.A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home. Arrangements by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.

I am so sorry for the pain and emptiness of heart you must feel at this time. Death is certainly an enemy that take those we love. (1 Corinthians 15:26) Soon the Sovereign Lord Jehovah (Psalm 83:18) will remove all pain, suffering and death forever. Giving the opportunity to life on a peaceful earth with the welcoming of those from the memorial tombs. (John 5:28 & 29; Acts 24:15) Yes, Jehovah God cares for us.
