The funeral services for the late Mr. Jimmy Lee "Sonny" Alexander, Jr. of Denver, Colorado, who departed this life on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in that city, will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. from the First African Baptist Church in Sylvester, Georgia with the Reverend Forster Evans, Jr., officiating.  Burial will follow in the Shepard Memorial Garden Cemetery in Sylvester, Georgia.        Mr. Jimmy L. Alexander, Jr was born in Sylvester, Georgia on Feb. 16, 1965 to the late Mr. Jimmy L. Alexander, Sr. and Mrs. Eloise B. Billingslea.      Jimmy gave his life to Christ at an early age and joined First African Baptist Church in Sylvester Georgia, where he served in the male choir.      Growing up Jimmy was very active in sports. Jimmy graduated from Worth County High School in 1983 and went on to further his education at Fort Valley State in Fort Valley Georgia, where he obtained a degree in Electronic Engineering.      Jimmy relocated to Denver, Colorado where he worked for the Federal Government and coached little league football. Jimmy was heavy into sports and politics and was a die-hard Falcons fan.  While living in Denver, Colorado, Jimmy became a member of the Chi Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated, in the fall of 1994      Jimmy married Ms. Constance Wilkins on July 23, 1995, and this union was blessed with three children.      Mr. Jimmy L. Alexander, Jr, (53), husband, father, son, brother, and dear friend to all, was called home to rest on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018 at Lutheran Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy L. Alexander, Sr. and son Robert Wayne Alexander.      He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Constance Alexander; four children, Cameron Currington, Deja Alexander, Bryce Alexander, and Zyon Alexander all of Denver, Colorado; mother Eloise B. Billingslea and stepdad Freddie Billingslea, Jr of Sylvester Georgia; two brothers, Leon Alexander of Detroit Michigan and David (Debra) Cuffie, Jr of Loganville, Georgia; two sisters, Le’Ann Alexander of Bessemer, Alabama and Shadra Billingslea of Columbus Georgia; cousins/brothers, Chandra (Vonda) Richardson of Tallahassee Florida, Yusvf (Ayana) Brantley of  Sacramento, California, Aubiao Brantley of Sylvester, Georgia, Mankalo Brantley of Atlanta, Georgia, and Jawara Brantley of Hampton, Georgia; cousin/sister, Kanika Brantley of Hampton, Georgia; two aunts Louise Hollis of Boston, Georgia and Brenda Wilcher of Sylvester, Georgia; one uncle Robert Johnson, Jr; god-mother Barbara Jean Richardson of Sylvester, Georgia and god-aunt Anne Jones of Sylvester, Georgia; two step-sisters, Stephanie Thomas of Sylvester, Georgia and Octavia (Chris) Rainey of Montezuma, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Words cannot begin to express the sadden in the passing of my friend and brother Jimmy. But you can rest assure Jimmy is in a better place looking down from above with the smile we all know and love. To the family may the spirt of the Lord comfort you.
