His Arrival

Mr. Crawford Miller was the first child born to the late Mr. C.H. Miller and reared in the home of Mrs. Lucy B. (Earnest) Ellerby on July 4, 1946, in Pike County. He attended school in Pike County before relocating to Lamar County. He later finished at Booker High School in Barnesville.

His Connection to Christ

Crawford, at an early age, sought Christ and joined Pine Chapel Baptist Church in Pike County. Later, he relocated with his family connected with Bethel A.M.E. Church of Barnesville.

His Desire to Support his Family

Crawford learned as a young  man the need to work and provide a means of support. He worked at Dundee Mills, which later became Carter’s Mill, and he later retired from Aldora Mills General Tire.

His Love for Family

Crawford loved spending time  with his family and friends. He loved to address everyone as “Doc” and always had a joke or a thumbs up for you. He had a fascination with antique cars, and he especially loved his red Chevrolet.                   Crawford wouldn’t leave the house without his hat and had many various styles.    In his leisure time, he would love to sit in his recliner and watch any county western show especially “Gunsmoke.” He also loved sharing fond memories with his buddies, Mr. Fred O’Neal, Mr. Frank Mathis, and Mr. Clarence Mack

His Departure

Crawford was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Mr. Charles Miller. He was called from labor to reward on September 23, 2018. He is now reunited with his family, and his purpose was served on this side. Until we meet again, take your rest, “Doc.”


His Precious Memories

Crawford’s precious memories will live on in the lives of his two sons, Mr. Darren Davis of Barnesville, and Mr. Mark Miller of Thomaston devoted friend and fiancée, Ms. Linda Edge  of Barnesville; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren;  five sisters, Mrs. Louise (Billy) McDowell of Locust Grove, MS. Clarice Miller, Ms. Earnestine Hansford, Mrs. Linda (Albert) Rutland, and Ms. Geraldine Ellerby, all of Barnesville, five brothers, Mr. Otis (Susan) Miller , Mr. Tommy (Gretchen) Ellerby, Mr. William Ellerby, all of Barnesville, Mr. Charles (Joyce) Ellerby of College Park, and Mr. Gary (Robin) Ellerby of Jacksonville, Florida; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends who will all cherish his memory.


Funeral Service were held on Friday September 28, 2018

   12:00 Noon
