Mrs. Elizabeth Cathcart Mobley of 403 W. Biggers Ave, Gastonia, North Carolina was born December 27, 1938 and was called home on Monday; September 24, 2018 at Accordius Health of Gastonia.

She was a lifetime member of St. Paul Baptist Church, Gastonia, NC where she was a faithful choir member, chairperson of the kitchen committee and a member of the adult missionary department.

Elizabeth Carthcart Mobley, affectionately known as “Memaw” and “Aunt Lib.”  She was a 1957 graduate of Highland High School where she graduated with honors.   Elizabeth was a caregiver for forty-five years for Judge Linwood and Mrs. Sybil Hollowell.

Elizabeth had a passion for singing, gardening and cooking.  She loved her family and friends dearly.  She made it her business to send cards for every occasion to each of them.  She will be dearly missed.

She leaves to cherish precious memories to the love of her life, her husband: Horace Mobley, two daughters: Althia D. Kithcart of Charlotte, NC and Vanessa Dee of Gastonia, NC; one sister: Mrs. Susie Grier of Gastonia, NC; a special grandson: Brian Dee; three other grandchildren: Vincent Dee, Kimyatta Dee and Montario Powell, ten great grandchildren, two step daughters: Delois Brown of York, SC and Cherrita Malker of Gastonia, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral: Saturday; September 29, 2018; 2:00 p.m.; Macedonia Apostles and Prophets Ministries-405 Sherman Street, Gastonia

Visitation: one hour before the service at the church

    I would like to express my condolences in the loss of your dear loved one. The bible gives us hope of seeing them again in the promised resurrection according to such scriptures as [John 5:28-29] and [Acts 24:15]. We find further hope in [Revelations 21:3-5] which says that Jehovah God will wipe away every tear from own eyes, and [Isaiah 25:8] says that God will swallow up death forever. I hope these scriptures will be of some comfort. With Deep Sympathy.
