Solomon “Boot” Cantey, Jr., 63, died Monday, September 17, 2018 at Providence Hospital, Columbia, SC. He was born July 29, 1955 in Manning, SC a son of Odessa Thames Cantey and the late Solomon Cantey, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Cantey will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Hayes F. Samuels, Sr. Memorial Chapel 114 North Church St., Manning, SC. Rev. Major Lloyd, officiating; Rev. Lucreitta Pugh and Minister Jermiah Blanding assisting. Burial will follow in Faith Center Cemetery Paxville, SC.

The family is receiving friends at the home of his niece and her husband April and Cory Pugh, 2881 Fawn Ridge Road, Manning, SC.

    Our deepest condolences to the family. When our loved ones fall asleep in death, words alone cannot ease the pain of our loss. Our loving God Jehovah understands how we feel and he comforts us by means of his word the Bible. Psalm 147:3 reads He (God) heals the brokenhearted; He binds up their wounds. We can also find comfort from Jesus words at John 5:28-29 “The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out”.
