Ms. Sherry Jean Spencer Seigle, 50, was born in Gaston County on May 10, 1968. She departed this life on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation/Gastonia. She was the daughter of Eddie Leon Seigle and Ruby Jo Spencer Seigle.

Sherry was a graduate from Ashbrook High School. Sherry grew up in Lowell NC. It was at an early age her father Leon discovered that Sherry loved to play sports. When Sherry reached middle school (Holbrook Jr High) she became active in playing, basketball, softball and track. Because of her talent in sports some of her friends gave her the name the “punisher”. Sherry was unstoppable. She was loved by so many and was known to have everyone’s back and never was a stranger to anyone. As a result of her compassion and heart for the hearing impaired at a young age Sherry took it upon herself to independently learn sign language.

She leaves to cherished fond memories: her parents: Eddie and Ruby Seigle of Gastonia, NC. One daughter: Sonya D. Spencer of Charlotte NC; two sons Dominque L. Spencer and Michael R. Dover Jr of Gastonia, NC; One grand-daughter; Isabella A. Spencer of Gastonia, NC; one sister Pamela Seigle Patterson (Brian) of Gastonia, NC; two brothers Schron L. Seigle and Darek L. Seigle (Renata) both of Gastonia, NC; one niece Presheonia Seigle Patterson of Charlotte, NC; and one nephew Chevis L. Seigle of Gastonia, NC, and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral: Saturday; August 4, 2018; 2:00 p.m.; Mt. Calvary Baptist Church-120 Branch Street, Lowell

Visitation: one hour before the service at the church

We're so sorry you are mourning the loss of your dear loved one. Not much can soothe the pain this sorrow brings, but we hope the words of Psalms 34:18 can help some. It reads: “Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit.” We can rely on our loving God to provide comfort in these troublesome times. He also has made the Surprise of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored into a beautiful paradise! (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:9-11, 29). This is Sure to come because everything God says, he does without fail (Isaiah 55:11). Find out more about this resurrection online at JW.ORG
