Evelyn Louise Glenn Robinson, affectionately known as “Evaleen,`” was born May 8, 1942 in York County.

Evaleen attended Clover School for Colors, later changed to Roosevelt High School, located in Clover South Carolina. After leaving Roosevelt she worked as a domestic worker. Evaleen was multi-talented. First and foremost, she was a self-appointed comedian. When you came around her, she was the entertainer who was determined to make you laugh! Her skills included; playing the piano; building furniture or whatever she desired; making clothes; cleaning houses; driving trucks; rescuing animals; but best and foremost; she open her home and heart to anyone that needed her help.   

Evaleen is the mother of five children, Teresa Brooks; Thomas Glenn; Michael Ashley; Edward Ashley; and her baby girl Tarsha Ashley. Evaleen loved and adored all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Here’s her Legacy of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren… Latoya Ashley, Lashyla Williams, Victor Byers, Da’ashia Byers, Sanyia Parker, Isaiah Byers, Ty’mad Ashley, Tyshayana June, Markeevia Ashley, Shannon Lynn Ashley, Beverly Ann Tiggs, Brandy Lionel, Starkeisha Gilliams, Brittiany Gilliams, Mattison Glenn, Paris Glenn, Merilye Lionel, Autunn Lionel, Earth Lionel, Leslie Brooks, Paris Brooks, London Brooks, Princeton Brooks;  British Brooks, Brinna Brooks, Benjamin Gregory, Bishop Woods, Egypt Woods, Channing Brooks, Adalyn Brooks.

Evaleen was preceded in death by Horace Ashley of the home whom she affectionately loved; her mother: Alma L. Glenn; her father: Sammy L. Glenn; and a brother: Sammy A. Glenn.

Evaleen is survived by her best friend in life: Willie Worthy Robinson; her siblings: Judy (Collie) Gingles; Kenneth Glenn (Vanessa); Kaye L. Glenn; Marvin (Janice) Glenn; Macie L. Clary; Vernon Wayne Glenn; and a host of nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles, other relatives and friends.

Funeral: Tuesday; July 10, 2018; 1:30 p.m.; Word of Power Ministries-4010 Old York Street, Gastonia

Visitation: thirty minutes before the service at the church

    We're sorry to hear about your recent loss. May you find strength from the words of Philippians 4:13 which says: "For all things I have the strength through the one who gives me power." What a loving God who cares about each one of us. He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11).
