Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Cherry will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Abundant Life Church (12th Street), Bishop W.C. Sanders Sr. officiating. Interment is at Lincoln Hill Cemetery. West Gadsden Funeral Home directs.

Public visitation is 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday.

She leaves a legacy of prayer, memories and exemplification of the true missionary work to her devoted husband of 56 years, Deacon JC Cherry; daughters, Benita (Spencer) Gober, Jacqueline Cherry; son, Erron (Epiphany) Cherry; grandson, Thadrick Cherry; granddaughter, Makhaiya Cherry; great-grandson, Micheal Bradlee Cherry; sisters, Pearlie Taylor and Mattie Williams; brother, James (Mary) Williams.

    We're so sorry you are mourning the loss of your dear loved one. Not much can soothe the pain this sorrow brings, but we hope the words of Psalms 34:18 can help some. It reads: “Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit.” We can rely on our loving God to provide comfort in these troublesome times. He also has made the Surprise of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored into a beautiful paradise! (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:9-11, 29).
