Brother Charles Edward, Jr. was born on March 19, 1962 in Gastonia, NC to the late Charles Edwards, Sr. and Evelyn Vernell Edwards.

Charles Jr. resided with his sister Theresa Williams in Kings Mountain, NC when his health began to worsen.

Charles Jr. departed his life on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas, NC. 

Charles attended Mountain Crest Church of Love in Kings Mountain, NC under the leadership of Pastor Linda Hutchens, and later joined as a faithful member and rededicated his life back to Christ. 

Charles Jr. never met a stranger in his life and he knew how to make everyone feel loved and important with his passion to reach out to anyone in need.  Some of his passions in life were his motorcycles and motorcycle family “Dinosaur Riders,” working for S and K Express and helping in the community by feeding the homeless every Thanksgiving holiday.  He loved spoiling his great nieces and great nephews and striving to make his mother proud.

He was preceded in death by his father: Charles Lee Edwards, Sr.

Survivors include his devoted mother: Evelyn V. Edwards of Gastonia, NC; his son: Charles Edwards, III of Gastonia, NC;  four sisters: Minister Charlsey (Barry) Byers of Belmont, NC, Deaconess Teresa Williams of Kings Mountain, NC, Angela Edwards of Gastonia, NC and Pamela (Keith) Butler of Dallas, NC; three step daughters: Tasha Rhyne of Charlotte, NC, Samantha Rhyne and Keisha Murrell  two nieces, ten nephews, fifteen great nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other family and friends.

Public viewing (only): Wednesday; June 27, 2018; 3:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home

Memorial Service: Thursday; June 28, 2018; 2:00 p.m., Gregory Funeral Service Chapel, 601 N. York Street, Gastonia

Visitation: thirty minutes before the service

    We deeply feel for what you and the family are going through. At times, there isn't much that can soothe the pain this grief brings, but you may find some comfort in the words of Psalms 9:9 which reads: "Jehovah will become a secure refuge for the oppressed, A secure refuge in times of distress." Yes, our Loving God can help if we allow him to (1John 5:14). He also has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth, when it is restored to a Paradise (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:9-11,29).
