Life Reflection

Barbara Ann Hoke was born on October 13th, 1957, in Lamar County, to the parentage of the late Mr. Bobby Allen and Mrs. Gladys Allen. Barbara Ann attended Lamar County High School. Upon completing her high school diploma, she later attended Griffin Tech to further her education.

During her early years, she began to work for William Carter Company (Carter’s). Barbara decided  on a career change and became a drop-shift coordinator for Peachtree Business Products, where she worked for over 25 years.

Barbara married Mr. Corneice Hoke, and in this unbreakable union, they had five children. Barbara Ann was a strong woman whose grace and strength was magnetic to anyone she encountered. She was a member of the Shaw Temple family where she served as an usher and as an Acolyte, for God. She took great pride in being a great mother and helping everyone, from family to stranger. Barbara loved her plants, a hobby she collected from her mother. She enjoyed talking to her best friend, watching her shows, and being in the comfort of her own home.

Barbara Ann was preceded in death by her siblings, Mr. Wayne Allen, Mr. Neal Allen, and Mr. Ronnie Jacobs, and her parents, Mr. Bobby Allen and Mrs. Gladys Allen. Barbara reunited with the Lord and her late family on Saturday, May 26, 2018. Barbara Hoke’s strength and power will live on through her children, Mr. Bernard Allen of Marietta, Miss Taylor Hoke of Marietta, Latricia Hoke of Lawrenceville, and Corneice  Hoke Jr., of Tennessee, five beautiful grandchildren, her surviving brothers Mr. Richard (Jan) Jacobs of Lawrenceville, Mr. Rex Allen, of Powder Springs and Mr. Carl Allen of Columbus, sister-in-law, Ms. Dianne Jacobs, of Norcross, and Mrs. Patricia Allen of Barnesville; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and many devoted friends who will miss her presence.

We're sorry to hear about your recent loss. May you find strength from the words of Philippians 4:13 which says: "For all things I have the strength through the one who gives me power." What a loving God who cares about each one of us. He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11). Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your loved ones? What a joy it will bring all of us. You can go online to JW.ORG and find out more about this resurrection.
