Mr. Donnie Ellis Wright, was born on January 25, 1951, to the late Mrs. Inell Sullivan Wright and the late Mr. Willie James Wright in Forsyth, Monroe County, Georgia. His early education was in the public schools of Upson County.

At an early age , he joined Welcome Grove Baptist Church. He sang in his mother’s gospel group as a young man. After completing several  years of high school, he was employed with Thomaston Mills. He later joined the United States Army. He served from January 11, 1972, to December 6, 1972. He returned home with an honorable discharge. He later found work with his hands doing what he enjoyed, working as a handyman. Donnie married   Mrs. Ezella Wright. He was also the father of four children.

During his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, talking to older people, riding, sharing wisdom with anyone who would listen, and traveling. Donnie returned home in his later years and reunited with his old friends. He enjoyed doing whatever he could to help anyone. He was free hearted and loved to see a smile on people’s faces. Donnie later joined Mary Lizzie Baptist Church. He enjoyed the worship service and the preaching of the word of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Mr. Alfred Wright, and one brother, Mr. Jerome Wright. On Saturday, May 26, 2018, the Lord saw his son in distress. He whispered his name, and Donnie answered and went home to be at rest. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Mrs. Ezella Wright of Bradenton, FL; three children, Mr. Derik Wright (Gloria) of Griffin, GA, Mrs. Demetris (Donda) Bridges of College, Park, GA, and Mr. Anthony Wright of Atlanta, GA; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Peggy Risper and Rev. Rickey (Millicent) Wright, both of Thomaston, GA and Sharon (Darryl) King of Macon, GA; five aunts, Mrs. Nadine (Oscar) James and Mrs. Bennie Ruth Richardson, both of Barnesville, GA, Mrs. Annette Harriett and Mrs. Jeanette Steward, both of Flushing, NY, and Mrs. Nona Battle of Jacksonville, FL; devoted family friend, Stella Revell of Shiloh, GA; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

    We're so sorry about your loss. Please find comfort from the words found at 1 Corinthians 1:3, 4 which reads: "3 Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our trials" Yes, we can ask for help and rely on God. He also has made the SURE promise of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored to a beautiful paradise. (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:9-11, 29).
