Orlando Colguitt affectionately known as “Welet” or Uncle Po” was born the 12th child of the late Oscar Colquitt, II and Ms. Hattie Kate Smith Colquitt on October 20, 1967 in Meansville, Georgia. At an early age, he joined the Mount Nebo Baptist Church, where he faithfully served.

Orlando receive his education from Pike County School System and was graduate a of Southern Crescent Technical College. He served in the National Guard and was a dedicated worker at International Paper Company for 7 years.

“Uncle Po” bequeaths his family and friends with many fond memories. He enjoyed dancing, playing basketball, socializing, spending time with his classmates as well as his family. Uncle Po really enjoyed being around his nieces and nephews and would often have dance offs with them.

“Orlando” departed this earthly life on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin, Georgia.

“Orlando” was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Colquitt, II; two brothers, Charlie Lee Colquitt and Jamie Lee Colquitt; three sisters, Essie Mae Colquitt, Mattie Bell Colquitt and Laura Mae Bell.

“Welet” leaves to cherish his loving memories a devoted and loving mother, Ms. Hattie Kate Colquitt of Meansville, GA; a God-daughter, Tiara Colquitt of Griffin, GA; a God-granddaughter, A’Maria C’ Aysia; Four brothers, Reverend Oscar (Willie Dean) Colquitt, III of Griffin, GA; Mr. Rex (Treresia) Colquitt of Meansville, GA; Mr. Keith (Carol) Colquitt of Barnesville, GA and Mr. Roger (Sabrina) Colquitt of Woodbury, GA; Four sisters; Ms. Lorene Colquitt and Ms. Mary Lena Flemister both of Meansville, GA; Ms. Frances Marshall of Stockbridge, GA and Ms. Hattie Dewberry(Alonzo) of Williamson, GA; Sister-in-law; Ms. Bernice Colquitt of Meansville, GA; A God-Mother; Ms. Shirley Flemister of Meansville, GA.

Nine aunts: Ms. Romanger Johnson, Ms. Rebecca Chapman, Ms. Lona Thomas and Ms. Linda Jordan all of Meansville, GA; Ms. Doris Colquitt and Mrs. Teresa (Henry) Jones all of Griffin, GA, Ms. Susie Brown of Jacksonville, N.C. Ms. Luvenia Chapman of Hoboken, N.J. and  Ms. Eugenia Jones of Marathon, FL; Special friends: Ken, Roy, Darrell, Donna, Cheryl & Tiffany; Great nieces & nephews; Anecia, Jamarian, Amaya & Landon and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that loved he loved dearly.
