Mother Beatrice Parks Trice Brooks  was born on May 30, 1935, to the late Mrs. Gladys Eppinger Parks and the late Mr. Ulysses Parks, in Molena, Pike County, Georgia. At an early age, she joined Mount Olive Baptist Church. As a young girl, her parents moved to Florida, and she received her early education in a Catholic school. After moving back to Georgia, she attended high school in Pike County.

When she reached young adulthood, she married Mr. J. Bobby Trice on April 16, 1950. To this union, two children were born. To help support her family, she worked at the Thomaston Mills Bleachery Division. She was the first black hired in this division.

After her marriage, she joined the Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church. She was a faithful and devoted member. She was a member of the Deaconess Board and Mother Board, She helped with the communion and served in the kitchen and wherever she was needed. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, taking care of her children, and keeping house.

After she retired from the mills, she did private duty work for Dr. Jerry Helms, Mr. Melvin Slade, Dr. Jonathan Busbee, and the Bickley family. Her husband and one son, Bobby McTier Trice, preceded her in death. After their passing, she opened her heart to Mr. Louis Alston Brooks. They were married on October 21, 1995. They shared 22 years together.

In addition to her parents, husband, and son passing, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Robert Parks and Mr. Charles Parks, and one sister, Mrs. Debra “Tiny” Brinson. On Friday, May 25, 2018, the Lord called her from labor to reward. She answered the call and went to her eternal home to rest. Her departure has left sadness in our hearts, but her memory will live on forever.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Mr. Louis Alston Brooks; four children, Mr. Eric (Mary) Trice; Mrs. Lewistine (Willie) Smith, Mr. James (Maryette) Johnson, and Mr. William Quiller; six grandchildren, Mrs. Tisha (Michael) Levine, Ms. Saadiqa Trice, Ms. Faatima Trice, Mr. Kelecy Smith, Mr. Lankston (Shawn) Johnson, and Mrs. Lacy (Duran) Jackson; five great-grandchildren, Tizaya Binns, Matthew Levine, Zackery Jackson, Jase Jackson and Ashley Johnson; one brother, Mr. James Parks; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mary Trice Willis; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mrs. Gwendolyn Parks, Evangelist Sandra  T. We pray the Trice Family knows of our love and adoration for Bea. We can all relish the memories and gain strength in knowing she now rests in the arms of our Lord and Savior. We shall all meet again.

We deeply feel for what you and the family are going through. At times, there isn't much that can soothe the pain this grief brings, but you may find some comfort in the words of Psalms 9:9 which reads: "Jehovah will become a secure refuge for the oppressed, A secure refuge in times of distress." Yes, our Loving God can help if we allow him to (1John 5:14). He also has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth, when it is restored to a Paradise (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:9-11,29). No, not just a dream, but for a certainty he will do it, for Isaiah 55:11 shows us that everything he says, he accomplishes without fail. You can find out more online at JW.ORG
