Mr. Kenneth Bernard Harris was born July 14, 1966, to Mrs. Geneva Childs King and the late Mr. Oliver Corley Harris in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. His early education was in the Upson County School System, and he graduated from R.E. Lee High School. During his early adulthood he joined New Life Church.

When he graduated from high school he found employment with Concrete Supply Company as a truck driver. He enjoyed being on the road and driving his truck. He later worked for Walker Brothers, Watson Brothers, J.M. Tankline and lastly for Georgia Sand and Stone. Kenneth was the father of five children, all whom he loved dearly. He was proud of his children and did not mind working to provide for them. He loved his family and supported them when he was able in their activities in school, especially Olivia.

During his leisure time he enjoyed driving “Blue Magic”, listening to Black Tony” on the Rickey Smiley Show, watching his Dallas Cowboys, listening to Prince music, talking about his brother “Jeff” all the time, making others laugh, eating his mother’s “banana soup,” and spending time with his family, Although he never drank, his father nick-named him “Whiskey Bottle.”

He was preceded in death by his father, his brother Jeffery J. Harris, and one sister, Kathy Harris. On Monday, May 14, 2018, the chapter of Kenneth’s life came to a close. The Lord called his name, he answered and went home to be at rest. His departure left sadness in their hearts, but his memory will live on forever.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Mrs. Geneva Childs King of Thomaston, GA; five children, Mr. Roxtavious (Maleka) Harris of Thomaston, GA, Mr. Taveres Harris, (Bria Davis) of Woodstock, GA, Mr. Xavier (Kenniece) Harris of Thomaston, GA, Ms. Kylah Hooks and Ms. Keundra Olivia Harris both of McDonough, GA; two grandchildren also; one sister, Mrs. Kay (Lorenza) Howell of Thomaston, GA; Brother-in-law, Mr. Johnnie Ray Harris of Thomaston, GA; aunts and uncles, Mrs. Betty (Eddie) Fagan, Mr. Bobby Lee Childs, Mr. Allen Childs, all of Thomaston, GA, Mr. Larry (Brenda) Biggs, Mr. Freddie (Ruth) Diggs, and Mr. Lorenzo (Sylvia) Harris all of Atlanta, GA, Mrs. Ailene (Robert) Clark of Rayford, NC, Mrs. Linda (Kenneth) McBeath of Montgomery, AL, and Mr. John Milton of Dublin, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

We deeply feel for what you and the family are going through. At times, there isn't much that can soothe the pain this grief brings, but you may find some comfort in the words of Psalms 9:9 which reads: "Jehovah will become a secure refuge for the oppressed, A secure refuge in times of distress." Yes, our Loving God can help if we allow him to (1John 5:14). He also has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth, when it is restored to a Paradise (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:9-11,29). No, not just a dream, but for a certainty he will do it, for Isaiah 55:11 shows us that everything he says, he accomplishes without fail. You can find out more online at JW.ORG
