I met Mikey when I worked at Lincolnton High School and I was immediately impressed and loved him. I looked forward to seeing him at WalMart because of his quick smile and friendliness. He was a joy to everyone who passed his way. WalMart will never be the same without Mikey. I look forward to reuniting with him in Heaven.

I am sad to hear about Mikey’s passing. I hope that in due time your family receives God’s peace that excels all thought, so that it will guard your hearts and your mental powers. God is called the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation. No doubt he would never bring us suffering. A soothing scripture I like is Psalm 34:18 “Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart, and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.” He promised that soon, we will have the prospect of enjoying life without end, free from all problems, accidents, and sickness. Even our loved ones like Mikey will be resurrected. (Psalm 37:9, 29; John 5:28, 29) Thus, while you await the Paradise where peace and happiness will flourish, may you lean on God to give you the strength you need in the days ahead.

We deeply feel for what you and the family are going through. At times, there isn't much that can soothe the pain this grief brings, but you may find some comfort in the words of Psalms 9:9 which reads: "Jehovah will become a secure refuge for the oppressed, A secure refuge in times of distress." Yes, our Loving God can help if we allow him to (1John 5:14). He also has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth, when it is restored to a Paradise (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:9-11,29). No, not just a dream, but for a certainty he will do it, for Isaiah 55:11 shows us that everything he says, he accomplishes without fail. You can find out more online at JW.ORG

My husband and I worked with Mikey at Walmart. And he was a good friend to us both. I honestly can not recall a single time that he wasn't able to make either of us smile. He will be truly missed but we are both so blessed to have known him. Please know that your family will be in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time.
