Mary Katherine Boner-Rowe

(February 8, 1922 – March 8, 2018)

Mary Katherine Boner-Rowe was born at her family home on Lexington Road in Danville, Kentucky on February 8, 1922 to the union of Clarence and Pansy Boner. She attended most of her formal education in Cincinnati, Ohio, until returning to Danville and graduating from Bate High School. Katherine was very bright and aspired to be an interpreter. However, her creativity and remarkable talents as a seamstress took her into fashion. She was known for her ability to make any and all things for family and friends and was later employed by the Mademoiselle Shoppe in Gary, Indiana, which was known for custom-made skirt-and-sweater sets and fancy dresses for women and girls. She also worked several years for Montgomery Ward. Katherine loved to cook and was an avid reader throughout her life.

Katherine married Robert Moore Rowe and had two children, Robert Boner Rowe and Ronald Moore Rowe. After her marriage to Robert, Katherine had two more children, Arthur Bernard McDonald and LaJoyce Michelle McDonald. All of her children went on to attend post-secondary education and engaged in successful careers. Katherine’s only daughter, Michelle became her longtime caregiver while Katherine remained living independently in her Danville home. Michelle continued to love and care for her mother after she moved to Danville Centre, which is where she resided until she was called home to the Lord on March 8, 2018. Katherine was a member of Stoney Point Predestinarian Baptist Church.

Her memory will be cherished by daughter, LaJoyce Michelle McDonald, son, Ronald Moore Rowe, grandchildren, Cheryl Rowe Moncore, R. Damon Rowe, Joy Jenkins-Broyles, Heather (Rowe) Stern, Arianne (Rowe) Slay, and Abigail (Rowe) Eiler, sisters, Suella Mayfield and Sarah Riffe, amongst several nieces, nephews, loving cousins, and long-time friends. Katherine is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Pansy Boner, siblings, Gertrude Barleston, William Boner, Georgia Frances Meeks, and Samuel Boner, sons, Robert Boner Rowe and Arthur Bernard Rowe, and husband, Robert Moore Rowe.

we're so sorry to hear you are mourning the recent loss of your loved one. May you find strength and comfort from the words of Psalms 46:1 which reads: "God is our refuge and strength, A help that is readily found in times of distress." Our loving God is there for us if we ask for his help (1 John 5:14). He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11). Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your loved ones? What a joy it will bring all of us. You can go online to JW.ORG and find out more about this resurrection. ~~~You are also cordially invited to the memorial of Jesus death. The means by which the promise of a paradise is possible.
