Victor Lamar Veasy, Gadsden, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017. 

Services will be Monday at Abundant Life Church. Rev. Ed Jones is officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Hill Cemetery. 

Mr. Veasy was preceded in death by his parents, Shelly and Joyce Veasy; a brother, Kenneth Veasy; two sisters, Nellie Veasy-Trammell and Rhonda Veasy. 

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Theresa Maxwell Veasy; a daughter, Kalandrian LaShay Veasy; son, LeMarcus Lamar Veasy; stepsons, Patrick Maxwell, Joseph Young of Alabama and Frederick Young of Arizona; stepdaughter, Cherrie (JaMichael) Young of Alabama; sisters, Regenia Veasy, India Maxine (George) Crockett of Detroit, Michigan, Theresa Veasy-Hogg of Huntsville, Carolyn (Brian) Vaughn of Madison, LaVareyl (Samuel) Cain of Gadsden; brothers, Cederic Veasy of Albertville, Allan (Betty) Veasy of Conyers, Georgia, Rodney Veasy of Birmingham, Terence (Shelia) Saddler of Phoenix, Arizona, Reggie Sumpter of Boston, Massachusetts; sisters-in-law, Natalie (Gary) Trotter and Veronica (Gary) Jones of Rocky Mount, Virginia, Melinda (Ben) Roberts of North Carolina, Scharles (Billy) Tolliver of Boones Mill, Virginia; aunt, Mrs. Edsel Turk; mother and father-in-law, Mrs. Jewel Maxwell and Mr. Nathaniel Maxwell; and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends. 

The body will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service. 

Family hour will be from 5 to 7 tonight at the funeral home.

    I'm sorry to hear about your loss. May you find strength and comfort from the words of Psalms 34:18. It reads: “Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit." Our loving God is there for us if we ask for his help (1 John 5:14). He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11).
