Rev. Willie James Waters, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday January 26, 2019 at his residence, services will be held Thursday, January 31st at 1:00 P.M. at St. John Baptist Church in Chula, Ga. with Committal services to follow in the Church Yard Cemetery. Repast will conclude at the Church Social Hall.
Rev. Willie James Waters was born on August 14, 1939 to the parentage of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford and Fannie Waters in Crisp County. He was an active member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Things he liked to do when he wasn’t in church was watching football and baseball. For many years, Rev. Waters worked for Kmart and the Coke Company. After retirement, he was able to spend more time working for the Lord.
Rev. Waters was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Missouri Ramsey; brothers, Rev. Eddie L. Waters, Rev. Robert L. Waters, and Clifford Waters, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving Wife, Mattie Ann Waters; his Children, Billy J. Waters, Betty (Larry) Cushion, and Susie Waters; his Goddaughters, Anatha (Mark) Sims and Annie Jones; his Brothers and Sisters, Annie Cole, Maggie (Aaron) Jackson, Willie F. (Willlie Mae) Waters, John (Alice) Waters, James (Magdalene) Waters, Helen Waters, Blonise Waters, and Andrew (Pearlie) Waters; 22 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, sorrowing friends, and church members.
