Russell Lee Godette, Sr. 75, of 1800 Adams Creek Rd., Havelock died Thursday, December 6, 2018 at CarolinaEast Medical Center.

Viewing hours are 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Thursday at Oscar's Mortuary.

His funeral service is 1:00 PM, Friday, December 14, 2018 at Craven Corner M. B. Church 1050 Adams Creek Rd., Havelock.  The entombment will follow at the Morris Family Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Alene Godette, Havelock; one son, Russell Lee Godette, Jr., Virginia; two daughters, Jane Marie Simmons, New Bern and Judy Ann McClain, Havelock, NC; two sisters, Jannie Godette and Marguerite Walker both of Havelock; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

    I am sorry for your loss, please accept my sincere condolences.     I am sorry to read of your loss. For comfort and strength you can look to Almighty God Jehovah. He has promised that there is going to be a resurrection of those sleeping in death. Revelation 21:3-5, Acts 24:15 and John 5:28,29 they all speak of the resurrection hope that Jehovah promises by mean of his Son Jesus Christ. It’s a sure promise from Almighty God Jehovah who cannot lie. My the God of all comfort strengthen and comfort Godette family and friends in your time of sorrow. My condolences.
