Amanda Rethea McDonald was born January 2, 1952 in Dillion, South Carolina, to the late Charles E. and Margaret McCallum McDonald. Bunny was raised in Rowland, North Carolina. As a young child with her parents and loving grandmother the late Lether McCallum “Bunny” was raised in a Christian home. She joined the Mt. She was educated in the public schools of Robeson County at Southside High School.  Bunny left Rowland at age 21 and joined her older sister Carolyn in Washington D.C. There Bunny would attend night classes and later would work for the federal government for 27 years until her retirement in 2004. Bunny then, relocated to Greensboro, North Carolina to be near her loving sister Carolyn, devoted brother Joe and niece Shenica; whom she loved beyond measure.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn McDonald.

She leaves to embrace loving memories, brother, Joseph (Shirley Whitsett) McDonald of Greensboro, N.C.; niece, Shenica McDonald of Washington, D.C. One aunt, Mrs. Sarah McCallum of Greensboro, N.C. and one uncle, Mr. Charles P. Watson of Columbia, S.C., a host of cousins; that loved her like their sister, and many friends old and new.
