Cathy Denise Royal,62, of 1208 Pinetree Dr. New Bern, N.C. died at her residence Wednesday, September 5, 2018.
Viewing hours are Friday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Oscar's Mortuary.
Her funeral service is 1:00 PM, Sunday, September 9, 2018 at St. John M. B. Church 1130 Walt Bellamy Drive, New Bern.
She is survived by her daughter, Myeshia Somme of the home; son Cedric Somme of New Bern; brothers Alfonza Royal of New Bern and Edward Royal of Goldsboro and eight grandchildren.

Family. Please accept my condolences on the loss of your much loved Mother. Cathy was a true servant of the Lord, and to know her was to love her. Take comfort in knowing while she will be greatly missed, never her presence. For so it must be that her earthly body of perishable nature has changed into a body that cannot decay; that her mortal body has been changed into a body that will live forever. To Cathy's family , your mom , sister and grandmother is a wonderful woman, she touched many of lives and shared her beautiful smile everywhere she went along words of love and encouragement.Always after every conversation i had with Cathy I would say I love you , her response was always I love you more .Please remember that she lives within our hearts and minds . Cathy was a warrior . May Gods peace overflow your minds and his word give you understanding to why Cathy left this earth and moved on to another journey with God. I love you all . I would like to express condolences in the loss of your dear loved one. The bible gives us hope of seeing them again in the promised resurrection according to scriptures such as [John 5:28-29] and [Acts 24:15]. We find further hope in [Isaiah 25:8] which says that Jehovah God will swallow up death forever. [Revelations 21:3-5] says in part that God will wipe out every tear from our eyes and death will be no more. I hope these scriptures will be of some comfort.
