Saturday Aug 4, 2018 Greater Eleazar Baptist Church 5027 Sunshine Dr; Fort Worth, Texas 76105,   Pastor Lawrence Barrett Gracious Host Pastor Pastor William Morgan-Eulogist.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     On a bright spring day in 1998, July 31, to be exact, a bouncing baby boy was born to proud parents: Timothy Shorten and Stephanie Morgan. They chose to name their gift from God, Xavier. Xavier was truly a gift from above filled with so much love, laughter, and life. Xavier learned the most important lesson in life is to have a personal relationship with Christ. And with that, Xavier accepted Christ and allowed that relationship to grow as he grew at  Greater Hope Missionary Baptist Church, and later he continued to learn of a loving Savior when he became a member of Sanctuary of Praise Baptist Church. Xavier started his schooling at Edward J Briscoe Elementary and later went on to graduate from New Beginnings Christian  Academy in 2015. Xavier loved being a brother to Brian Morgan and Isaiah Shorten. As well as to his sisters: Timmeyah Shorten, Mya Shorten, Hailey Shorten and Ariyahna Shorten. Xavier loved basketball and enjoyed video games. But what he enjoyed the most came in the form of a small bundle of joy by the name of Nevaeh Jolavaughn. From the day he first laid eyes on Nevaeh, he wanted to be the best father ever, and he put words into actions as she showed her love each and every day. Though Xavier will be missed, the memories of his life will forever leave a lasting impression on the lives that he touched while he made his journey down here on earth. He now resides in the great city with those who preceded him: Mildred Morgan (grandmother), Ruth Westbrook (great grandmother) Timothy Shorten Jr ( father). Others that are left to cherish the memories of Xavier until that great day are his mother Stephanie Morgan (Charles), daughter Nevaeh, grandparents Ray Morgan Sr. and Loyce Jackson, and girlfriend Rikki Abrams. A host of aunts and uncles: LaSharene Morgan, Tamara Morgan, Trina Shorten-Hallman, Timbra Shorten, William Morgan Jr. (Tomesia) Cedric Morgan (Karen), Daryl Shorten, Mario Shorten, Nyjel Shorten, and Tayvin Shorten and other family, friends and loved ones who will forever cherish memories of   Xavier.

We're so sorry to hear you are mourning the recent loss of your loved one. May you find strength and comfort from the words of Psalms 46:1 which reads: "God is our refuge and strength, A help that is readily found in times of distress." Our loving God is there for us if we ask for his help (1 John 5:14). He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11). Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your loved ones? What a joy it will bring all of us. You can go online to JW.ORG and find out more about this resurrection.
