Service of Celebration will be held Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 11am New Breed Christian Center 4500 South Riverside Drive ~ Fort Worth, Texas Pastor Darryl Blair, Gracious Host Walls of Jericho Deliverance Church Pastor John F. Reed, Officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at 7pm Her Life Journey: On January 18, 1943, in Fort Worth, Texas, a beautiful baby girl was born to Alexander Parhams & Lillie Mae Johnson Parhams. The proud and elated parents named their gift from God, Carolyn. She and her siblings, Willie, Carl, Claude and Alexander, Jr. were reared to love God, family and their fellow man. She was educated in the Fort Worth Public Schools, where she was a proud and esteemed graduate of the historic I.M. Terrell High School, class of 1961. As a student there she excelled academically as well as socially. Carolyn accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Nichols Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Otha Lee Nichols. While in attendance at I.M. Terrell, Mr. Ernest King stole the young Carolyn’s heart and the two were later wed. They were blessed with six wonderful children, Phyllis, Evelyn, Ernest, Jr., Raymond, Glenda, and Patricia. Oh, Because she was a believer in Jesus Christ and accepted him as her Savior and Lord, she made sure that her children knew God as well. She reared them according to the Holy Scripture found in Ephesians 6:4, “Bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord” and she lived a godly life before them. Ernest and Carolyn remained blissfully married until he passed in 1971. Carolyn later found love once again, and after a period of courtship, on March 10, 1973, she married Mr. Alonzo Johnson. To this union she added a wonderful step-daughter, Shannon. The two remained together until the Lord saw fit to call him home in 1997. Professionally, Carolyn worked in the garment industry; having worked for Whiteway Cleaners and Town & Country Cleaners for over 20 years. She also worked for Volkswagen for over 10 years. She loved spending time with her family and was especially excited to spend time with all of her grandchildren. She could often be caught dancing while enjoying her favorite tunes on the radio. She was a very spirited woman and she had no problem showing it. Carolyn played a mean hand of cards and also enjoyed beating anyone at a good game of dominos. She also enjoyed going fishing and bowling. She had a heart as big as the sky and she will be missed by all. Heaven has truly gained an “Angel.” “I go to prepare a place for you and where I go you may go also”...On August 24, 2018, Carolyn Johnson entered a prepared place for a prepared people. She is now sitting at the welcome table with her Savior and Lord, her beloved parents, Alexander Parhams & Lillie Mae Johnson Parhams; first husband & father of her children, Ernest King, Sr.; daughter, Evelyn King; second husband, Alonzo Johnson; brothers, Willie Parhams, Carl Parhams Sr., Claude Parhams and Alexander Parhams Jr.; and niece, Cheryl Phyllips. Those who are left awaiting the great Coronation are her loving children, Phyllis King Reed (Marvin), Ernest King Jr., Raymond King, Glenda Wilborn (Rev. James W.), Patricia Peoples (Rodney), and Shannon Hearn (Justin); grandchildren, Toshiba, Cshauronia, Tennille, Antwaune, Quinese, Emannuel, LaKeyia, Tikinya, LaTonya G., Desmond, Cynthia, LaTonya C, Christopher, Raeana, Amanda, LaTosha, Jamar, TeAmbra, Matthew, Mark, Luke, Danielle, Chasten, Danyell, Divine, and Janazia; 57 great grand, six great-great grandchildren; niece: Althea; nephews, Carl Jr., David, Anthony, and Victor; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

We're so sorry to hear you are mourning the recent loss of your loved one. May you find strength and comfort from the words of Psalms 46:1 which reads: "God is our refuge and strength, A help that is readily found in times of distress."
Our loving God is there for us if we ask for his help (1 John 5:14). He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11).
Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your loved ones? What a joy it will bring all of us.
You can go online to JW.ORG and find out more about this resurrection.
