Vernon Leroy Skinner, Sr., 87, of  New Bern died Friday, August 17, 2018 at his residence.

His funeral service is 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Oscar's Memorial Chapel.  The interment will follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.

He is survived by his daughters, Michele Matthews of the home and Vernona Redding, Philadelphia, PA; three sons, Vernon L. Skinner, Jr., Winslow Skinner both of  Philadelphia, PA and Gregory Skinner, Lawnside, NJ; two sisters, Sandra Pullet and Delores Brown both of Philadelphia, PA; eleven grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
